CCLS alumnus elected as Chairman of the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Victor Gugushev (Laws LLM, 2015) discusses his new role at the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and his work in the charity sector.
“In 2023, I was elected as a Chairman of the Managing Board of the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRCCI). BRCCI is a private association of companies interested in developing the cross-border business relations between the two countries. The position is an honour because I perceive it as a recognition for my efforts over the last years in the development of the organization as a dynamic forum for discussion and exchange of new ideas that would improve the business climate in our markets and the economic prosperity of our countries. The fact that BRCCI operates in one of the most fast developing markets in the EU, from my point of view, is a precondition for further expansion of the organization, provided that we keep on working for even more active communication and opportunities for common projects that would guarantee a sustainable growth of the member companies.
My career path is closely related to Gugushev & Partners Law Office, a leader on the Bulgarian legal market, ranked among Top 100 Employers in Bulgaria for 2022 and 2023. The company holds Deal of the Year Award for 2021 and 2022 and Law Firm of the Year Award for 2015 and 2017. As a part of Gugushev & Partners legal team, I gained considerable experience, leading significant international deals in the field of corporate issues, mediation, tax planning, energy, and financing. Currently, I hold the position of Senior Partner in the company and manage the Business Development and Strategy Department as well.
Developing a strong Corporate Social Responsibility program is a crucial aspect of my strategic vision about the role and future of the company. Both as a company representative and as an individual, I am involved in various projects and initiatives, supporting children and adolescents in need as well as the young talents in our country. Since 2023 I am proud to be an elected member of the Advisory Board of one of the most active and trusted organizations, supporting children at risk and their parents – For Our Children Foundation. Further, BRCCI established and currently hosts the Bulgarian – Romanian Kids Fund. As a Chairman of the Managing Board of BRCCI, I am motivated to strengthen my efforts so that any cultural barriers that might exist for the children in both countries may be overcome.
Personally, I’ve always believed that children and family are the stable foundation for the sustainable development of any mature and enlightened society. For more than eight years I have been a Board Member of the Family Business Network and still support and participate in their initiatives.”
