Louis Castellorizios-Fabre shares his career journey at Blick Rothenberg since leaving CCLS.

Published:

We recently caught up with our alumnus, Louis Castellorizios-Fabre (Tax Law LLM, 2022) to discuss cooperation between CCLS Careers Office and his accountancy and tax firm Blick Rothenberg’s as well as learn about what Louis has been doing since his graduation.

Dr Bernard Schneider, Academic Director of the Institute of Tax Law at CCLS hosted Louis and his colleague from Blick Rothenberg, Sarah Ousby. They discussed the work the firm does on the French market and planned a careers event for current Queen Mary law students to introduce Blick Rothenberg’s French Desk.

Louis also updated us on his latest work: “Previously to Queen Mary I studied Law and Tax Law in France. At QM I followed the lectures of the International Tax Law LLM (US Tax Law, UK Tax Law, International tax law and International tax law in practice and Transfer pricing), my dissertation was focused on how taxation can help solve the climate change issue. I graduated in 2022 and joined Blick Rothenberg in 2023 (Global Mobility Department). Within the global mobility team, I am part of the French Desk (we also have a German and a Chinese Desk).

It’s been a few months now since I joined Blick Rothenberg in the Global Mobility team. As a native French speaker, it has been really interesting for me to have the opportunity to apply my knowledge of the French culture and my language skills. In addition to actively working on French clients, I am pleased to share that in my role, I have had the opportunity to also contribute to the activities of our French Desk.

Our French Desk which is led by Vanesha Kistoo includes French speakers as well as non-French speakers who have extensive experience in supporting individuals as well as businesses who have a complex set of circumstances. We often advise on cross border working arrangements, secondments and help businesses to establish a local presence in the UK. We are here to support the French community (companies and individuals) in the UK.

Currently we are promoting our firm to students (studying Law, Tax and other topics) speaking at least two languages. We are currently looking for one graduate in our GM team next year but the French desk covers all departments!
