Stavros will be discussing the review of the Arbitration Act 1996 at the event co-hosted by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the UK Law Commission. Also amongst the list of prominent speakers is Professor Julian DM Lew KC, Teaching Fellow at CCLS. The panellists will discuss the topics covered in the review from a variety of perspectives.

Attendees will also be able to discuss the UK Law Commission’s preliminary findings in its ongoing consultation on the review of the Arbitration Act 1996 (closing on 15 December 2022). This public consultation event takes place on 29 November 2022 from 17:30 - 19:00 GMT and is co-hosted by Ciarb and the UK Law Commission.

The Arbitration Act provides the legal framework for arbitration in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and has been used to inform legislation in many jurisdictions around the world. Ciarb has made significant contributions to the review since its launch last year and will continue to work closely with the Law Commission while it conducts this review.
