US-Irish national Patrick Byrne (Comparative and International Dispute Resolution LLM, 2016), who was part of the team that recently helped heirs to the Sultan of Sulu win a US$15 billion award against Malaysia, has been promoted to partner at B Cremades y Asociados in Madrid.

This is what Patrick says about his studies at CCLS: “Seven years ago I decided to leave my litigation practice in California with the goal of transitioning to international arbitration. When I sought the advice of colleagues in the legal community as to how best to accomplish this, the answer was clear  - Queen Mary. After an incredible year of learning from some of the top minds in the industry, alongside bright, talented students from across the globe, I was fortunate enough to join the international arbitration team at B. Cremades y Asociados in Madrid. I can say with confidence that I would not be in this position had it not been for the Queen Mary LLM program.”
