Chioma AgomoProfessor Chioma Agomo (Law LLB, 1976, Law LLM, 1977) was featured as one of the female pioneers of Queen Mary Women’s History Month campaign.

Chioma Kanu Agomo was formerly Professor of Law at the University of Lagos and she was the first female Dean of the Law Faculty. Her areas of specialisation include Labour Law and Labour Relations, Gender and the Law, with emphasis on gender issues in the workplace, Law of Contract, and Insurance Law. She holds a Diploma in International Labour Standards, and Certificates in Gender Mainstreaming, Gender Budgeting, and Training for Gender Audit Facilitators, all from the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organisation (ITCILO).

Professor Agomo is passionate about the practical application of human rights standards in the workplace. She is a Fulbright Scholar, an Honorary Fellow of Queen Mary University of London, and a Fellow of Nigerian Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. In August 2020, Professor Agomo led the University of Lagos Senate to successfully challenge the unlawful removal of the Vice Chancellor by the University Council.
