Delal Özvarış (International Business Law LLM, 2018) explains why he was eager to be involved in setting up the Turkey Chapter.
Why did you decide to get involved with the CCLS Turkey Chapter?I believe many of us even after graduation, continue to feel connected to QMUL as we all become part of a family with shared experiences and values. Although I got involved with several alumni events, none of them were at the national level so I believe with the CCLS Turkey Chapter, I’ll have a chance to stay connected to fellow alumni living in Turkey and build new connections.
What do you think the importance of the Turkey Chapter is?The Turkey chapter is a great opportunity not only to stay connected with alumni living in Turkey but also to encourage prospective Turkish students to join CCLS family. It is also a great way to help fellow alumni, students and prospective students as it gives its members access to the community all around Turkey who can become sources of support to pursue professional and personal goals.
How do you hope the Chapter will benefit alumni who join? The Turkey Chapter with its precious members will surely be an immense network of professional and personal contacts - all with whom we already have one thing in common. So with the involvement of the Committee, numerous events to maintain links with the group members will be organised and such events will surely help maximise the potential of our degree.
