Dr Jane Deayton qualified from University College and Middlesex Hospital School of Medicine and trained in Genito-urinary and HIV medicine. She gained her PhD in Virology from the Royal Free Hospital, studying CMV in the HIV-infected population. She is Honorary Consultant Physician in Infection and Immunity at Barts and the London NHS Trust and runs a clinical service for HIV-2 infected patients.

Research Interests:

Research interests include opportunistic infections in AIDS, HIV co-infections with Herpes and other viruses and co-factors in HIV disease progression.

Ongoing research projects include:
Studies of HIV-2
Biomarkers of HIV-associated neurocognitive impairment
Virological studies of HIV dual infection, elite control of replication and predictors of clinical outcome
Identification of undiagnosed HIV infection in primary and secondary care settings
