Profile

Puiyin Wong is the Innovation & Scholarship Manager, a member of the Innovation, Learning & Scholarship Team. She is responsible for the development and enhancement of Educational Scholarship across QMUL. This includes supporting colleagues in developing their practice, managing projects, and running workshops related to Educational Scholarship. 

 With a background in creative arts and digital education in HE, Puiyin oversaw the curriculum development of online and low residency courses at Central Saint Martins (UAL). Previous to that, Puiyin co-led the strategic implementation and provision of digital education at the Royal College of Art.  

Puiyin is active in the HE and digital education community; she serves as a Trustee of ALT (Association for Learning Technology) and as the Vice-Chair of the ALT M25-LTG Special Interest Group. With a specialism in community building and practice sharing, Puiyin runs a number of popular projects, these include:

Research

Research Interests:

Puiyin is a PhD candidate in the Educational Research Department at Lancaster University, where she is also the Doctoral Researchers Representative at the Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning. Her thesis explores the potential benefits to professional development in creating educational podcasts, for the podcasters themselves.  

More broadly speaking, Puiyin’s research interests include how technology can develop learning networks, subsequently how learners can benefit from the dissemination of knowledge in these networks freely and openly. She is particularly partial to anything Threshold Concepts and the Networked Learning Theory.
