Bloomberg Market Concepts

In today’s open-source, fast-changing digital marketplace, it’s the real-world experience that will best prepare students of business and finance for the world that waits.

Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) is a self-paced e-learning course that provides an interactive introduction to the financial markets. BMC consists of 3 sections — Core Concepts (includes four modules – Economic Indicators, Currencies, Fixed Income, Equities), Getting Started on the Terminal and Portfolio Management. The sections are woven together from Bloomberg data, news, analytics and television. The course is available through the Bloomberg Terminal at BMC <GO> or through the Bloomberg for Education website.

More than 300 universities currently integrate Bloomberg into their curricula through BMC, and Queen Mary University of London is proud to be offering its students this opportunity.

During their postgraduate degrees, students will be able to:

  • Learn how to use Bloomberg software
  • Acquire the official Bloomberg Market Concepts certification
  • Learn how Bloomberg software interacts with Excel
  • Acquire Microsoft Office Specialist qualification

Bloomberg Market Concepts is part of the module "Financial Instruments and Markets", which is a compulsory module on MSc Financial Mathematics programme.

Students pursuing MSc Mathematics and MSc Data Analytics will also have the option to take Bloomberg Market Concepts certification alongside their programme.
