Libraries and Study Spaces

Queen Mary University of London has three libraries across its London campuses: Mile End, Whitechapel and West Smithfield.

Mile End Library houses a large collection of multi-disciplinary materials. Whitechapel and West Smithfield libraries cover all aspects of Medicine and Dentistry. You can use any of our libraries regardless of what course you are studying.

There are many other places to study across our campuses, including spaces inside academic and QMSU buildings. For a full list, please visit the Study spaces across campus page.

Some of our study spaces are bookable in advance. You can book using our online booking system, LibCal

See our Opening Hours page to find out when we are open and how to find each space. For information about each of the Queen Mary campuses, please visit the How to Find Us page.

Self-Guided Tours

Queen Mary Library Services will be offering self-guided tours of our libraries, starting in Welcome Week. Tours will include an introduction to some of the features and facilities of the library by a member of Library Services staff, followed by a self-directed tour of the building. The tours are designed for new students, but participating in a tour will be useful for anyone interested in the range of services the library has to offer or who would like to refresh their knowledge.  Book online via LibCal for tours at Mile End and Whitechapel.
