Maynard was the first mistress of Westfield College and a prolific writer, although this handwritten autobiography was never published.
The manuscript for her autobiography was written between 1915 and 1933, for the dates 1849-1927. Written using the diaries she kept throughout her life, it covers events from her childhood, through to her college years and time at Westfield.
