Application for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS)/Oral Medicine - 2025 Entry

Applicants must have the following in order to be eligible for the programme:

  • Completed or about to complete all parts of the MFDS or both parts of MJDF or equivalent
  • At least 12 months experience of clinical pathway and clear career aims. In addition it is desirable to have some publication history or research experience.
  • Membership of the British Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAOMS) or British & Irish Society for Oral Medicine (BISOM), plus must be fully registered with the GMC.

Applicants applying for this course are not required to take the UCAT.

Applications for the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS)/Oral Medicine Programme will open on 14th October 2024, 10:00 (UK Time) and will close 13th December 2024, at 15:00 (UK Time).

 

Applicants are selected for interview based on their application form - personal statement (cover letter), experience to date, recommendations (references) and qualifications about to, or are already achieved.

Shortlisting and interviews are held with a panel of dental and/or medical staff. These will be held online and usually take place in the Spring in the year you have applied for. Further information on exact dates and times will be communicated via email. You will also expect to hear from us shortly after on the outcome of your interview.

Each year, we are usually able to offer ten places to applicants post-interview.

Please note that the A30X programme is only open to those who are UK domiciled/have a Home Fee Status.

Applicants who apply that do not fall under this category will automatically be rejected.
