The School of Business and Management's latest Annual Report

We are delighted to share our latest Annual Report which presents education, engagement, and research highlights from 2022. We are proud to be signatories of the United Nations’ Principles of Responsible Management Education and we have been sharing reports on our progress towards fully embedding the Sustainable Development Goals in our strategy, education, research, public engagement, and ways of operating since 2016.

In this year’s report, we have included the five Impact Case Studies we submitted to the recent Research Excellence Framework which show the scale of the impact achieved by our faculty, in policy and business practice, through their research and stakeholder engagement. We have also celebrated the successes of staff and students given awards for excellence and innovation, including four students, who received Student Enhanced Engagement and Development (SEED) awards in recognition of their extraordinary contributions to advancing student learning. One of the students, Amy Chan (MSc International Human Resource Management, 2022), who developed recommendations for supporting neurodiverse students, said “Having the opportunity to be part of this project has been eye-opening, and being recognised for my contribution through the SEED Award has made all the work worthwhile.”

We value the regular contact we have with so many of our alumni – a growing number year on year – and in particular the vital support they provide for our students through mentoring, speaking at industry spotlight events, presenting guest lectures, and offering experiential learning opportunities. We have recently welcomed three further alumni – Bilal Bin Saqib, Noareen Raja, and Sandeep Saibinto the Advisory Board, a body that offers advice on the development and work of the School, particularly on future strategy and the employability of our students. Our annual report provides their profiles and discusses the skills they bring to further support our student community.
