Pharmacotherapeutics

Pharmacotherapeutics encompasses the use of pharmacological products such as drugs, vaccines or therapeutic devices, to cure, control or prevent disease or to maintain health.  Researchers in the Pharmacotherapeutics group and the Centre have expertise in delivering high quality clinical research including clinical trials, observational studies and utilizing existing trial and other databases to improve clinical understanding, guide treatment, inform management and impact routine clinical practice.

The Clinical Pharmacology and Precision Medicine  (CPPM) group has dedicated clinical research facilities and works closely with the Cardiovascular Clinical Trials Unit and Barts Clinical Trials unit to deliver academic- and industry- led trials. Experts in our group provide advice for UK and EU medicines regulatory bodies, the Commission on Human Medicines in the UK and the European Medicines Agency in Europe.
