Sleep

The following resources provide information on the range of factors which may result in having difficulties sleeping. They also provide advice on what to try to overcome these difficulties. 

Podcasts 

Free downloadable audio podcasts have been produced by the Mental Health Foundation which can help you relax and prepare to go to sleep. You can listen to them on your computer or download them to your phone or mp3 player. Here are a few examples: 

Wellbeing and Sleep: Full Works (5 mins) - this podcast is intended to be listened to in bed. It can help you relax and get ready to go to sleep. 

Specialist organisations 

Mind has booklets and factsheets about sleep problems that you can download. These include 'How to cope with sleep problems' and 'Making sense of sleeping pills and minor tranquillisers'. 

Living Life to the Full provides a free, practical online course for building a range of life skills and includes a module on sleeping better. 

National Sleep Foundation is an American website which provides information and advice on overcoming difficulties sleeping.
