Jo will be working with the Queen Mary Academy as a Fellow 2022-23. Her project will focus on the development of educational scholarship at Queen Mary, including scoping the opportunity for a new professional doctorate in Education (EdD).

Jo Brown is Professor Emerita in Medical Education and was formerly Deputy Vice Principal for Education Programmes at Queen Mary and Professor of Medical Education and Head of Quality in Teaching and Learning at Barts and The London Medical School. Jo is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and became a National Teaching Fellow in 2012.

She is a passionate teacher and advocate for excellence in teaching and learning in university education.

Her research interests centre on the movement of learning from classroom to clinical environment and the challenges to learning in the clinical workplace. Her recent research explored the application of Workplace Learning theory to the teaching and learning of clinical communication.
