What influenced your decision to study at Queen Mary?

When trying to decipher where to pursue my master’s degree, I had one guiding thought in mind: to undertake a masters at a university which offers a large variety of courses. This is where Queen Mary stood out.

What was key about your programme/ were there any highlights?

Queen Mary offers an extensive list of specialised LLM programmes. All students are given the opportunity to combine modules across specialisations, enabling them to discover their passion for law in multiple legal spheres! This is what specifically influenced my decision to choose an LLM at Queen Mary.

How did you find the teaching and learning?

My decision has been paid off in many ways. To begin with, the teaching at Queen Mary has been beyond interesting, exciting, and inspirational. The opportunities to learn from some of the world’s leading experts in Public International Law have been truly rewarding and motivational.

To add to this, the LLM at Queen Mary is structured quite flexibly, giving students the opportunity to maximise on teaching whilst also having the time to pursue other co-curricular activities. As a result, whilst I am pursing my LLM, I am also working with Queen Mary’s Legal Clinic (qLegal) and the Global Institute of Law as a Research Fellow.

What piece of insight or advice would you offer for future students?

However, without doubt, the most gratifying part of studying an LLM at Queen Mary has been the opportunities it has given me to pursue my passion. Often when deciding on a masters, students are consumed by thoughts of future employment. I can assure prospective students that, no matter what LLM they want to specialise in, Queen Mary will offer them every chance to optimise on opportunities. At the end of the day, what more can students ask for than a university which supports them in pursing what they love.

Would you be willing to share your Testimonial? If so, you could help a prospective student to make an informed choice to study at Queen Mary. (Class of 2020, 2021 and 2022 only).
