Our programmes
How we teach
At the Academy for Professional Legal Education, we design learning around the realities of modern legal practice. Our programmes are developed in collaboration with employers and industry partners, ensuring that learning reflects the skills, behaviours and knowledge needed in today's legal sector.
We combine academic rigour with practical application through face-to-face teaching, supported by online learning and independent study. Learners engage with real-world scenarios, case discussions and professional challenges that help connect legal knowledge to practice.
Depending on the programme, learning may also include practitioner-led workshops, simulated legal exercises, guest lectures, mentoring opportunities and networking events. Apprentices benefit from dedicated Skills Coach support, while SQE learners have access to BARBRI's specialist preparation platform.
Employer Partnerships and Advisory Board
We work closely with employers to ensure our programmes remain relevant, practical and responsive to the needs of the legal profession. Through partnership opportunities, guest lectures, case studies and industry collaboration, employers help shape learning that reflects modern legal practice.
Our Advisory Board brings together employer and sector perspectives to inform programme development, curriculum relevance and access to the profession. Board membership and further details will be published as appointments are confirmed.
