The report was commissioned by WIPO to provide guidance and technical assistance to support Member States as they examine how to structure their court systems and procedural rules to improve access to justice, enhance procedural efficiency, and more effectively address the unique complexities of IP disputes.
The report, co-authored with Maciej Padamczyk, compares different approaches to judicial structures and procedural rules for IP adjudication across 11 jurisdictions (Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Japan, Kenya, the Philippines, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States of America).
It presents practical insights into general judicial structures, specialised court systems, rules of procedure and policy considerations specific to IP disputes.
