Biography:

Dr Asaduzzaman Khan is a Teaching Fellow in Human Resources and Industrial Relations within the School of Business and Management at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). Prior joining at QMUL in January 2022, he was working at Buckinghamshire New University and the University of Bolton. He holds a PhD and MSc from London South Bank University. 

He has published peer-reviewed articles at leading international journals, including Journal of Human Resource Management, South Asian Journal of Human Resource Management and Management & Labour Studies. These publications focus on HRM / IR related issues such as trade unions, health & safety, minimum wages, working conditions etc. He has presented his empirical work in a variety of internationally reputed academic audiences.

Asad has teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate and executive education level.

He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Research

Research Interests:

Dr Asad’s main research interests are as follows:

  • Cultural barriers for international managers
  • International HRM
  • National and/or organisational culture
  • Industrial Relations issues such as trade unions, health & safety, minimum wages etc.

In his research, Dr Asad investigates what are cultural barriers for international managers when they are practicing corporate HRM / IR in a developing country. His expertise is both qualitative and quantitative research.

Public Engagement

Dr Asad is an Editorial Advisory Board Member in the South Asian Journal of Human Resources Management, Journal of Human Resource Management, and a regular reviewer in a range of HRM and IR journals.

Dr Asad is a member of the British Academy of Management and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.
