British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships 2021

The British Academy’s Post Doctoral Fellowships Scheme is now open (Postdoctoral Fellowships | The British Academy) to applicants who have completed their PhD viva between November 2018 and April 2022.

The School of Business and Management (SBM) is supporting this scheme and welcomes applications that fall under any of our research themes/units.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) are invited (brief CV and brief description of proposed research; identification of an SBM supervisor). EOIs need to be submitted to the School Research Manager (Saritha Divakar – s.divakar@qmul.ac.uk) by 3rd September 2021. Full applications, including peer reviews, will need to be uploaded to QM’s grant application system Worktribe by 30th September in advance of submission to British Academy by 14th October.

It is worth noting that the scheme is very competitive and unsuccessful applicants can't re-apply unless the BA invites them to do so. Therefore, Queen Mary strongly recommends advising prospective applicants that in most circumstances it's in their interest not to apply unless they already have a certain level of research experience and achievement after obtaining their PhD. Less experienced applicants are very unlikely to be successful in the current round, and would run a strong risk of not being eligible to re-apply in future.

Peer review will be undertaken by either the SBM Associate Dean Research or another senior colleague with grants reviewing experience.
