The School of Business and Management’s BSc Accounting and Management programme has been nominated for the CIMA Campus Culture Excellence Award and the CIMA Prize-Winner Excellence Award.
The CIMA Campus Culture Excellence Award recognises academicians, faculties and student bodies that have launched successful campaigns to create awareness and promote the CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) professional qualification within their campuses.
The CIMA Prize-Winner Excellence Award is an exclusive award which recognises the academic partner institution that trained CIMA’s Top Student of The Year.
These awards are part of the CIMA Excellence Awards 2020. Early this year, the Global CGMA University and Academic Center of Excellence (COE) launched the CIMA Academic Partner Excellence Awards to recognise Academic Partners who have worked tirelessly to equip CIMA-qualified graduates and students for future-ready careers.
Winners will be announced on 11 December at the inaugural virtual celebration.

Accountancy is one of those fields where both technical skills and industry knowledge is needed for a great start as a graduate. Every subject we deliver here at the School of Business and Management is about innovative thinking to give the students very best potential to thrive. Whether that be in academia, the corporate world or in the third sector organisations, our programmes prepare students to make a difference.”

A large part of its success is down to the work of the programme direct Ishani who has gone above and beyond her academic responsibilities to support students employability and career aspirations not only during their studies but afterwards also. Beyond accreditation the programme has so many added value benefits including CIMA student membership, additional workshops to prepare students for professional exams, talks from alumni and qualified accountants and moving forwards, finance placements with the NHS. This is a very innovative programme and I look forward to evolving the partnership between CIMA and Queen Mary in the years ahead".
About BSc Accounting and Management
The BSc Accounting and Management programme is aimed at students wishing to undertake a specialist degree in accounting and management. Students are given the opportunity to develop and enhance skills in financial accounting methods as well as management accounting techniques designed to assess and improve company level financial position and performance.
The qualification also helps students to undertake the challenge of addressing complex accounting and management issues in their future work. It is anticipated that the number of modules on offer to students in the coming years will expand.
The BSc Accounting and Management programme has been awarded Triple Accounting Accreditation status from CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales).
