The School of Business and Management are looking to recruit a Deputy Head of Administration (Grade 6), to play a major strategic and operational role in enabling the continued success and future development of the School.

The post holder will be responsible for the overall management of the School’s financial and space resources, ensuring efficient operations, high quality, effective support for teaching and research, and the School’s continued strong contribution to the university’s operating surplus. They will report to the Head of Administration and deputise for them as needed, representing and promoting at all levels a positive, assertive and professional image of the School and its management.

The Deputy Head of Administration will have significant relevant management experience within the Higher Education environment, coupled with a very good understanding of the sector, and a proven record of working with academic staff and senior management teams to achieve the School’s goals across the range of its activities. As the role holder will be responsible for various areas within the School, including management of space and of the resources required for academic, administrative and support operations, they will have strong organisational skills and experience. Excellent problem solving skills, with experience of making considered and appropriate decisions on complex matters and considerable experience of financial management, are also essential.

The post is full time and permanent. Consideration will be given to applicants wishing to work on a part time or job share basis. Starting salary will be in the range £45,577 - £50,881 per annum (pro rata for part time/job share) inclusive of London Allowance.
