Google talks to students on the MSc International Human Resource Management programme

On 24 November, Professor Geraldine Healy welcomed Chuck Stephens  (Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Google) and Charlie Setoodeh  (Student Engagement Specialist/ University Program Team) to talk to students on the MSc International Human Resource Management programme. The talk was part of the Comparative Employment Relations module and enabled students to learn about working life at Google, from the very competitive and demanding recruitment methods, to their unique international culture which was likened to a university culture in some ways.

The students asked lots of searching questions and were predictably interested in the Google's recruitment methods.  It was an engaging session that was enjoyed by all and described as 'an amazing opportunity'. The session was also attended by Dr. Catherine Seierstad, MSc IHRM Programme Director, and the programme plans to maintain good links with our Google contacts. Chuck and Charlie were also very impressed with our students and we shall plan a return visit.
