Last week the Counseil d'orientation pour l'emploi, which advises the French Prime Minister on issues regarding employment, invited Professor Pedro Martins to Paris to talk about the labour market reforms in Portugal. Prof Martins discussed reforms in areas such as employment law, collective bargaining, training, active labour market policies, and unemployment benefits, following his experience as Secretary of State for Employment in the Government of Portugal between 2011 and 2013.
