On Monday 23rd March at Drapers Hall, London, MSc Management student and course rep Dharshan Baskar was awarded the 'Course Representative of the Year'  and 'Outstanding Achiever' award 2014/15 for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Every year the QMUL Students' Union celebrates the contributions of staff and students to improving the Queen Mary learning experience at the Education Awards. Making up the Education Awards are the Course Rep Awards, awarded to course reps who have made a huge difference to students and their courses. The Course Rep of the Year award is nominated by students with evidence that they go above and beyond with excellence, including successfully effecting change, engaging with students and partnership working.

Upon receiving his award Dharhsan said:

"I believe that I could not have won it without the help of the teaching and support staff at Queen Mary. I would like to dedicate the award to everyone in the department as being a course representative, I was only the carrier of the issues, while it was others who always found an solution.

Queen Mary has been a very memorable place for me and with the few months left, I look forward to making every second count. It was a great honour for me to receive an award with my name imprinted on the Course Representative shield. I shall always cherish this memory of the university."
