Gender, Work and Organization 2012

Published:

The School’s Centre for Research in Equality and Diversity (CRED) is strongly represented in “Gender, Work and Organization 2012”, one of the most significant conferences worldwide when it comes to the study of gender. Launched in 1994, Gender, Work and Organization was the first journal to provide an arena dedicated to the debate and analysis of gender relations, the organisation of gender and the gendering of organisations.

The Gender, Work and Organization conference provides an international forum for the investigation and inquiry of a variety of issues in relation to gender studies. The 2010 conference at Keele University attracted over 330 scholars from 37 nations.

This year, two of the conference streams are planned and chaired by CRED scholars: the stream “Multiple Discrimination and Representation at Work: Intersectionality in Practice” by Dr Hazel Conley and Dr Tessa Wright; and the stream “Women’s organising: Groups by Women, for Women, about Women” by Prof Gill Kirton and Dr Nicole Avdelidou-Fischer.

The 7th Biennial International Interdisciplinary Conference “Gender, Work & Organization” will be held at Keele University, Staffordshire, 27th -29th June 2012.
