New Head of School

Professor Martin Laffin is taking up the post of Head of School of the School of Business and Management from 1st November 2011.

Currently Deputy Dean (Research) and Professor of Public Policy and Management at Durham Business School, University of Durham, Professor Laffin has previously taught at the University of Sydney and the University of Glamorgan, and was Head of the Department of Management in Durham from 2008-2010. He is currently a member of the Business and Management REF 2014 Sub-Panel and previously served as a member of the RAE 2008 Business and Management Studies Sub-Panel. He is also Chair of the Joint University Council Public Administration Committee, the learned association for public administration in the UK.  

Professor Laffin replaces Professor Gerard Hanlon who completes a successful term as Head of School on 31st August. For the period from 1st September to 31st October, Professors Gill Kirton and Mike Noon are covering the duties of Head of School between them.

The School thanks Professors Hanlon, Kirton and Noon and welcomes Professor Laffin.
