Dr Sadhvi Dar launches the SBM Parent Support Group for students

SBM PARENT SUPPORT GROUP

Published:

The School of Business and Management are delighted to announce the launch of a new support group for students who are also parents. The group is specifically targeted at mothers enrolled on an SBM course, fathers are also very much welcome.

The idea for a support group has been inspired by some brilliant young mothers on our PG courses who face problems with sorting out childcare, caring for their families, and at the same time, having to undertake challenging study and research as part of their course. At times, this daunting juggling act can undermine a person’s confidence as well as their sense of self-worth. The idea for the group is to provide a safe space where support and advice can be offered to parents who are enrolled on one of our PG courses or UG courses. It is anticipated that this initiative will enhance the student experience of parents enrolled on our courses.

Meetings will take place every third Thursday of the month during term-time.

The dates for the meetings are:

Thursday 17th February
Thursday 17th March
Thursday 21st April

We look forward to welcoming you!

Please contact Dr Sadhvi Dar (s.dar@qmul.ac.uk) for any queries or questions about the support group.

This initiative is also supported by the Centre for Research into Equality and Diversity.
