Profile

I am an artist and producer. My projects are participatory and based on long-term relationships with other artists and groups.

My PhD aims to recover a set of artistic methodologies tied to the community arts movement through an original, critical history of the artists and art centres that operated during the 1980s in East London– a golden era and national centre of such activity.

This research will inform a series of films developed with young people in Tower Hamlets and Hackney. We will attempt to collectively articulate systems of inequality, depict the unfolding effects of the coronavirus crisis on youth culture in the capital, and develop new models of participatory artistic practice. My supervisors are Steven Eastwood and Alasdair King.

I have developed exhibitions and projects with galleries across London, including Somerset House, Whitechapel Gallery, Serpentine Galleries and Gasworks. My film work has featured in exhibitions nationally and internationally. Alongside my PhD research, I work on a fractional contract at Chisenhale Gallery in Bow, where I am the Producer for Local and Online Audiences.
