Research - PhD

I am a second year PhD student at School of Language, Linguistics and Film. My research interests lie in deconstructing the post coloniality, gender, religion, and culture. My doctoral research explores the concept of transgender identity in Pakistan, draws a comparison with transgender identity in the West, and probes the socio-cultural and religious factors that lead to discrimination and exclusion of white-collar transgender workers at workplaces in Pakistan. The research also investigates the effects of intersectional and demographical differences like socioeconomic class, educational level, type of organization, and job position on workplace discrimination.
