Sharing Research Cultures

The newly established Research Culture team wish to bring together colleagues from across the university for an afternoon exploring research culture at Queen Mary. The event will take place online on Thursday 21st March 2024, 2-3:30pm.

The event will bring together a diverse range of colleagues from across Queen Mary to strengthen the research culture community, share good practice as widely as possible, and consider how we can build upon our research culture strengths.

The opening talk will be given by Professor Chloe Orkin, who will speak about her experience of leading FMD's successful application for the Athena Swan Gold Award.

If you would like to attend and/or give a five-minute talk please register your interest using this sign-up form by 5pm on Wednesday 14th February.

We would welcome expressions of interest from any individual or group of colleagues with an interest in improving and supporting a positive research culture at Queen Mary. Possible talks could highlight existing cases of best practice or behaviour at Queen Mary, or how research culture initiatives can positively improve the research culture and environment in which we work and produce research.

The event will be chaired and introduced by Professor Tim Warner, Dean for Postgraduate Research and Director of the Doctoral College, who will provide an update on the Research Culture team’s progress so far at Queen Mary.
