A State Apart is an interactive chronicle covering over thirty years of violent conflict in Northern Ireland. It includes a section on the Good Friday Agreement – constitutional issues, governance, intergovernmental relations, equality and rights, policing and justice, society, economy, culture, and reconciliation. Also available is a ‘Legacy’ section, which includes forteen clips from ordinary people in both communities speaking of the very human impact the violence has had on their lives. A State Apart also has a television series, which can be ordered from the webpage. The five-part programme examines the reasons for the establishment of two separate governments in Belfast and Dublin and the political, social, and economic problems confronting them. Also available from BBC is a radio series called History Lessons with Don Anderson. This four-part series first aired on Radio Ulster in May 2007 and considers four key moments that shaped the fate of Northern Ireland. Included are audio interviews with fourteen key witnesses to the collapse of Stormont in 1972, the fall of the power-sharing Executive during the UWC Strike in 1974, the 1981 Hunger Strikes and the signing of the 1985 Anglo-Irish Agreement.
