On 13 November, the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) filed a federal lawsuit against senior United States politicians, including President Joe Biden, claiming they had violated US and international law by abetting Israel’s “genocide of the Palestinian people” in Gaza.

The article explores other avenues to hold US officials accountable if the case is dismissed, including going to the International Criminal Court. Never Gordon, Professor of International Law and Human Rights at Queen Mary University of London, however comments: “If you look at the International Criminal Court, and if you look at the actual people that were ever punished, it’s never the strong". He continues, "The West can punish African leaders or African warlords; the victors can punish the losers."
