Rudi Fortson QC acts as consultant for project on confiscation orders

On 17 September, the Law Commission launched a Consultation Paper to review how confiscation orders are handled. The Consultation Paper considers how the existing statutory framework could be improved with the following objectives in mind:

  1. to improve the process by which confiscation orders are made;
  2. to ensure the fairness of the confiscation regime; and
  3. to optimise the enforcement of confiscation orders

The Commission said it is “deeply indebted to Rudi Fortson QC, Visiting Professor at Queen Mary University of London and practising barrister, 25 Bedford Row, has acted as a consultant on this project”.
