Agreement statement from School of Law following the UK vote to leave the EU

Published:

The School of Law, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) recognises that many students may have concerns following the result of the recent EU Referendum.

The School would like to reassure students, current and prospective, that there is absolutely no change in terms of status, fees, programme selection, programme and module curricula for 2016 and for the duration of programmes starting in 2016.

Our law programmes at QMUL have always and will continue to, engage with law from a European and international perspective. We shall maintain our commitment to the considerable number of EU law students, past, present and future, whose contribution we value enormously.

In the words of our President and Principal, Professor Simon Gaskell, in his message to all University staff and students on 24 June 2016:

"We do know that there will be no immediate change to the immigration status of current and prospective EU students and staff.  We also know that there will no immediate material change to the UK university sector’s participation in EU programmes such as Horizon 2020 and Erasmus+."

The School of Law, as with the rest of the University, will continue to extend our warm welcome to all students, existing and prospective, from the UK, EU and internationally.

If you have any further questions please contact EUStudents@qmul.ac.uk where help will be on hand.
