Professor Chris Reed - 'First Amendment means US internet guidelines unlikely to be tightened, say experts'

Experts say that extremist religious material is unlikely to be removed from websites in the US because of the First Amendment to the constitution that protects free speech.

Cyber law expert, Professor Chris Reed said: "The guidelines go as far as they can under US law. In the US it's all down to the constitution whereas we have a much more nuanced approach to free speech. I doubt US law could go further than it does. When videos get taken down they are often just put back up under a different name somewhere else."
