Professor Johanna Gibson presented the Road Map for Bulgaria at The European Patent Academy's conference on "Disseminating IP Knowledge in Universities" (EPO) in Rijswijk
2-3 December 2008, the European Patent Office (EPO) will host a conference on "Disseminating IP Knowledge in Universities" in Rijswijk.
The two-day event is expected to draw some 100 representatives of patent offices and universities from eleven European countries. It is organised by the European Patent Academy, which ensures the overall co-ordination of external education and training activities of the European Patent Office.
The main objective of the conference was to finalise so-called "road maps" for European universities, prepared by independent experts. The road maps include an analysis of the situation of IP in various faculties as well as precise measures to promote the dissemination of IP knowledge. The event built on the results of a series of roving workshops which were co-organised by the EPO and national patent offices in 2007 and 2008 under the framework of an EPO Europe-wide project on disseminating IP knowledge in universities.
