The Paris Intellectual Property Lecture series presents 'Digital Intellectual Property in China'. As effective protection for IPRs is becoming more challenging by the day in the virtual environment, China has established its digital IP regime with particular characteristics, which will be examined in light of an up-to-date case analysis.
Currently Visiting Professor at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London, Dr Guan H Tang is Associate Professor of Law at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Her primary research interests are in the areas of comparative IP, with an insight into Chinese IPRs and their relevance to the rest of the world. She also provides consultancy services to several organisations.
Guan received her PhD at the University of Edinburgh, where she read law with Professor Hector MacQueen, and investigated copyright law and the public interest on a comparative basis. Prior to that, she was awarded a governmental scholarship to undertake her Masters at Queen’s University Belfast.
