Opening Lecture: General Counsel Roundtable and Q&A

Queen Mary University of London’s Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS) and the Sorbonne Law School have co-organised the Opening Lecture: General Counsel Roundtable and Q&A, hosted by Jeantet.

This in-person event will bring together senior in-house lawyers with three major Paris-based international companies, for a discussion about their roles and that of their teams, the challenges they face and their expectations for the future. Our panelists, from Constellium, the Servier Group and Wabtec Corporation, will be joined by Stephen Walters (corporate partner at Jeantet) and Ioana Knoll-Tudor (arbitration partner at Jeantet).

About the Speakers:

Jeremy Leach is the SVP Group General Counsel and Secretary to the Board of Constellium, a multinational company leader in the development, manufacturing, and recycling of aluminium products and solutions and listed on the NYSE.

Béatrice de Gasquet is a senior director legal with Wabtec Corp., Wabtec is a multinational leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions, and value-added services for the freight and transit rail sectors.

Benoit Chéron is the General Counsel of Les Laboratoires Servier, an international pharmaceutical company.

Ioana Knoll-Tudor is a member of the Paris, Madrid and Budapest bars. She is also the Secretary General of the Paris Arbitration week. She specializes in international commercial and investment arbitration. She is acting both as counsel and arbitrator (sole and party-appointed). Ioana teaches and speaks at international conferences. She regularly publishes in the field of international arbitration.

Stephen Walters is a member of the Paris Bar and a solicitor in English law. For over twenty years he has advised clients in France and internationally on public and private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity transactions and other complex strategic transactions. His practice also includes advising on corporate governance issues and institutional investors in connection with their investments in private equity funds.

He advises clients in a wide range of sectors, with particular experience in the life sciences, technology, energy and financial services sectors.

This event will be also the opportunity to reward the most promising students with the "Jeantet Student Excellence Award" in recognition of their academic achievements
