Post-crisis Greece: impact on democracy and governance after 8 years of Economic Adjustment Programmes Lecture on 29 October 2018

29 October 2018

Time: 6:30 - 8:00pm
Speaker: Dr Stella Ladi, CER and School of Business and Management at Queen Mary
Venue: Arts One Lecture Theatre, QMUL, Mile End Campus

After 8 years of austerity, Greece is finally done with programmes of economic adjustments. The Greece experience has shown that since the eruption of the Eurozone crisis in 2009, the relationship between policy advice and reform processes in Europe has become quite paradoxical.

Dr Stella Ladi is a member of the Centre for European Research and senior lecturer at the School of Business and Management, Queen Mary University of London. Stella is also an assistant professor at Panteion University in Athens.  Stella will present some first-hand research findings on how policy-making has been affected by the Greek crisis and what lessons should be learned. Professor Kevin Featherstone, an expert of Greek and European politics will engage with her propositions.
