Education
Learning about sustainable food systems
Queen Mary’s Global Business and Sustainability MSc gives students opportunities to explore how businesses, governments and international organisations respond to sustainability challenges.
Aligned with the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Management Education, the programme brings together global business, environmental sustainability and responsible management.
Students can learn from organisations including Friends of the Earth, the Trade Justice Movement and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, helping connect academic study with wider challenges around sustainable development and food systems.
Protecting the biodiversity supporting food systems
Students on the Plant and Fungal Taxonomy, Diversity and Conservation MSc, delivered in collaboration with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, develop specialist knowledge of plant and fungal taxonomy, diversity and conservation.
The programme builds skills in identifying, classifying and conserving plant and fungal species, supporting wider understanding of the biodiversity on which agriculture and resilient food systems depend. Through this course, students gain knowledge relevant to protecting ecosystems, crop relatives and other biological resources that underpin food production.
