WHRI Annual Research Review 2023: Showcasing cutting edge-research and recognising excellence

William Harvey Research Institute at Queen Mary University of London recently hosted the Annual Research Review at the Derek Willoughby Lecture Theatre, Charterhouse Square on Wednesday 23rd June.

This one-day internal conference is a celebration of cutting-edge research and recognition of outstanding achievement both within and outside the institute.   

Attendees were treated to wide range of presentations including, 11 talks and 40 poster presentations from a diverse range of talented PhD students.

These presentations spanned across WHRI’s core research themes of cardiovascular, endocrine and inflammation science. The conference provided an invaluable opportunity for the next generation of researchers to showcase their innovative work and contribute to the ongoing advancements in these critical fields.

The programme included talks from distinguished international speakers and 2023 prize winners. Among the esteemed guests were Professor Sir Peter Donnelly from Genomics PLC, Professor Marina Botto representing Imperial College London, and Professor Arne Akbar from University College London. Their presentations were both enlightening and inspiring, offering valuable insights into the latest advancements within their respective fields.

As the programme drew to a close, participants gathered on the picturesque Charterhouse Square Campus Lawn to enjoy a barbeque and party in celebration of the day's events.
