Geography and Environmental Science

Everyone could be the next future changer

Our academics - experts in human geography, physical geography and environmental science - are committed to tackling the world's biggest societal and environmental challenges. Study with us to become the next future changer.

Why Geography or Environmental Science at Queen Mary?

As a Russell Group university with a difference, our School of Geography is recognised as an international centre for excellence in teaching and research. Whether you want to help to prevent climate change, improve quality of life and overpopulation or simply develop your understanding of the world and how humans interact within it, we can give you the analytical tools to succeed with our range of programme offerings.

Study options include single and joint honour programmes. Degrees such as Geography with Business Management and Environmental Science with Business Management allow you to develop specialise knowledge and business acumen.

Work alongside academics who are committed to making a difference in the world. From climate change, sustainability and environmental management to development, global health and questions of culture, identity and social justice, our research – and therefore your studies – reach out and touch upon some of society’s biggest and most pressing challenges.

We collaborate with many national and international organisations from the Environment Agency to UNESCO. We also partner with a wide range of organisations, including, the V&A Museum of Childhood, The Museum of the Home, the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), the Natural History Museum, and many more.
