Be the next one to fight cancer with AI

Professor Bessant has developed a way of using big data to understand how cancer interferes with our molecular machinery. Study with us and you could be the next one to help the fight against cancer.

Why Biomedical Sciences at Queen Mary?

As a Russell Group university with a difference, we are fascinated by the study of cells, organs and systems in the human body and how this can be applied to diagnose and treat disease. If you are the same, then studying at Queen Mary could be a great option for you.

Our Biomedical Sciences suite of programmes includes: Biomedical Science, Neuroscience, Pharmacology & Innovative Therapeutics and Medical Genetics. Our breadth of expertise is part of what fuels our multidisciplinary research. During all of our programmes, we equip students with a solid grounding in their scientific discipline and encourage them to discover their own interests and specialisms.

Practical sessions in our modern labs will give you hands-on experience of using scientific instrumentation. Our programmes are co-taught by Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences, bringing together core strengths and giving students access to a wider range of facilities.

After graduation you may progress to a career where you are making medical breakthroughs, or choose to train in medicine or dentistry.
