Winners of the Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre Poetry Competition

In December, we launched a poetry competition inspired by our I am You Project which helps raise awareness of the protected characteristics in the Equality Act 2010. This competition was a part of the SKETCH programme, you can find out more about SKETCH here: SKETCH - Student Knowledge Exchange Through Community Hubs

We were delighted to receive such an interesting and diverse range of entries.  All the entries were considered by our student judging panel made up of Queen Mary students studying different subjects.

We are pleased to announce that we have selected the winners of our competition.

Those who we chose as winners were the ones who engaged with the themes and had a great understanding of the message behind our competition and the Equality Act 2010. Well done to all who entered the competition and particularly to our published winners. We were overwhelmed with the creativity and inspired by the content.

We also want to thank Oana-Luiza Velicu, Johanna Marie Rech, Robina Tahir, Lillie Charlotte Silverstein and Holly Sylvia Rachel Aylward for their hard work in designing and delivering this competition.
