Matina has been appointed as a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Women’s Health at Queen Mary since 2018.  Her main research interest is reproductive and perinatal epidemiology and has expertise in big data analysis, data linkage, metabolic medicine and reproductive endocrinology. Her work has been published in journals such as the Lancet, Plos Medicine, European Heart Journal, BMJ, Human Reproduction Update and the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism. She works as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a special interest in reproductive Endocrinology at the Royal London Hospital. 


Matina has been awarded her PhD from the University of Glasgow and thereafter she was awarded a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship by MRC, which facilitate her to hone advanced epidemiological skills. Prior to that she was awarded an MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. After completion of her training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Glasgow, she moved to London where she was appointed as Senior Lecturer and Consultant from QMUL and Royal London Hospital.


Matina is involved with PBL for medical students and teaches and mentors medical and postgraduate students in a regular basis.   


Research Interests:

Systematic reviews and meta-analysis; data linkage; Big/ administrative data; reproductive and perinatal epidemiology; life-course approach; prediction modelling; reproductive indicators and cardiometabolic outcomes.
