Financial Aid

Disabled Students Allowance

The DSA is a government funded program that grants up to £25,000 to students to reach their full academic potential. These funds are allocated specifically to cover equipment such as a computer, travel expenses or any other disability related cost. To receive DSA, you must:

  • Be an undergraduate or postgraduate student
  • Be studying a course that lasts at least a year
  • Live in England
  • Meet the definition of disabled under the Equality Act 2010
  • Prove you are in fact disabled by providing a doctor’s report, disability evidence form or completing a diagnostic assessment
  • Qualify for student finance from Student Finance England

Unfortunately, you cannot apply for DSA if you are an EU student or get another funding such as the NHS Student Allowance or your university.
