I have always had the desire to pursue Dental Public Health (DPH) as a career pathway, due to my deep interest in novelty. DPH is not developed as a career pathway for dentists in Ghana, with very few people trained in the field. I chanced upon the Dental Public Health, Policy, and Leadership (DPHPL) offered by the Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) IN 2021 during a search for related MSc programs. I applied, went through the interview, and was granted an offer of admission. However, I did not have the required funds to undertake the program for the 2022 academic year, and therefore requested a deferral for a year. In 2023, I was notified of the availability of the Commonwealth Scholarship for Distance Learning, applied, and was elated to be nominated. — Makafui Dawoe, MSc. Being awarded a scholarship from Queen Mary University of London is a tremendous accomplishment for me.
