What influenced your decision to choose a LLM at Queen Mary?

Having successfully completed the LLB in English Law at Queen Mary in London, I was well aware of the rewarding programmes the QM School of Law has to offer. This ‘insider information’ fueled by the ambition to further my legal knowledge, the prospect of obtaining two LLMs in two different languages (i.e. English and French) and to experience all this in Paris, shed light on the uniqueness of the opportunity.

How did you find the teaching and learning?

What I was most impressed about, and the reason why am I probably enjoying the Double LLM to such a great extent is twofold. On one hand, there is an astoundingly diverse and first-rate student body (a chance to meet and connect with other lawyers from multiple jurisdictions and proficiencies), and on the other hand, the remarkable lecturers - devoted not just to their fields of expertise, but also to ensuring that the students have a good understanding of the topics that have been covered.

What was key about your programme/ were there any highlights?

The wide range of modules offered allowed me to gain significant legal knowledge in various practice areas such as: IP, energy, ethics, but also data protection, cloud computing and M&A. This holistic approach together with all the projects the university made available (from collaborating with the Association Française des Juristes d'Entreprise, to working at the pro-bono qLegal clinic, or writing for Amicus Info), meant that we are not just studying a graduate degree in the traditional sense, but a dynamic and practical one, truly preparing us for today’s legal world.

What piece of insight or advice would you offer for future students?

All said, the main piece of advice I would give to prospective Double LLM students is to not hesitate to apply for the Double LLM, as even if it is an intense programme, the benefits of the qualification are abundant.

Would you be willing to share your Testimonial? If so, you could help a prospective student to make an informed choice to study at Queen Mary. (Class of 2020 and 2021 only).
